A very poor comment to make - the mp , yes a Tory but also a former army officer (who's brother died in the Bali terror attack) who gave aid to an injured policeman and tried to keep him alive deserves better than such silly comments

You've missed the point. My issue is with media circulating clear photos of the officer we now know to be dead.
Praise the MP yes, but not with graphic images where the officer can be identified. Completely disrespectful to the dead officers family.

I think highly of that MPs actions.

...except that if the victim was bleeding badly it might have been more useful to staunch the flow rather than to keep pumping him dry.

And there were about 140 deaths from workplace accidents in each of the last 2 years, and about additional 2500 deaths from asbestos exposure. Definitely not nice for the workmates, victims or their families. As someone has said, Catch a hold of yourself people.

(I know, it's in London, it's dramatic and all that but why give terrorists so much of the oxygen of publicity?)

Completely agree. I work next to Westminster Abbey in Deans Yard. Was honestly terrifying. Wasn't allowed out of my office for quite a while.

Sad that police officer who died was armed, stated by police spokesman. It must have taken great courage not to pull out firearm and shoot. Appalled that a policeman has died in this way. Cannot imagine this happening in the USA where police shoot first and ask after.

Yeah, but there has been no high speed crash recently, and it's a bit disrespectful to the dead by making their deaths look like nothing.

Not saying it's nothing, it's a terrorist outrage (or a lone nutter.) However a lot more people have been killed at work and far more die as a result of work. How much publicity do they get? Maybe we should keep it in context.

I wonder if it would be possible for you to have just a little decorum, while people lie dead, or seriously injured in hospital.

I was running away from the sound of gunfire today. It's not an experience I care to repeat, and I don't think you trying to score moral points on a forum about trains is particularly adult conduct, if I'm honest.

The policeman was at work when he was killed, the public who were injured were possibly on their way to work or possibly working in the area.

No doubt there will be calls for all police to be routinely armed. Even in the light of today's incident I personally would not support this.

Not previously mentioned on here is that the police are saying that as far as they know there was only one attacker, also that one victim had to be pulled from the Thames. She was alive when pulled out.
