Does any one have any information about working for Mersey Rail and the temporary station retailer position please?

It is an entry level position to many jobs at Merseyrail. I hear they are offering fixed-term 1 year contracts... many people see this as a glorified probationary period. But still could be a route into the railway.

Looking at the job market on Merseyside from my own perspective this last year I wouldn't take it personally you got a rejection. The job I started in January (Not on the railways) was one I applied for back in September last year and didn't get an interview. They advertised more fixed term jobs in December and I re applied and got an interview, not only that but after the interview they offered me a permanent contract straight off. All of the folks who started in September are getting finished off.

It's quite unusual thay they sent you a rejection letter. Normally they only contact successful candidates.

I did, am waiting to hear, any one know if they only recruit temporary positions? any chances on permanent?
