Hi everyone.
I’m researching the dual-system electric locomotive EP20 and I’m trying to find technical information about its pantographs. According to available sources, EP20 uses two different current collectors:
• AX023BULT for DC operation
• AX024BMLT for AC operation

Both are reportedly supplied within an Alstom traction equipment package, but I can’t find any proper datasheets or manufacturer documentation in English.

I’m particularly interested in:
• contact force range
• max operating speed
• type of contact strips (carbon / composite)
• differences between AC and DC versions
• maintenance intervals or known operational issues

Has anyone here worked with EP20 locomotives or similar Alstom pantographs on high-speed or dual-system locos? Any technical insight, references, or pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the pantographs came from Alstom?
The wiki entry for these Russian machines says
The first 36 units had much of the electrical equipment (some auxiliary units, circuit breakers, transformer, and electronic control for the traction system) supplied by Alstom from, and integrated into new standardized locomotive platform developed by Transmashholding, the remainder also will be supplied by TMH, and the locomotives assembled at TMH's Novocherkassk plant.[5] The initial batch of locomotives had pantographs from Faiveley, transformer and DC inductors from ABB, disc brakes from Knorr Bremse, and mechanical drive (gear, hollow shaft) from Henschel Antriebstechnik.[27]

NEVZ manufacturers EP20 locomotives since 2012, using domestic parts and components from 20 Russian regions. In the latter years, the manufacturer undergone substantial import substitution efforts for an array of critical components, which included traction and auxiliary converters, pneumatic current collecting gear, driver’s cabin, and sanitary modules.

I read that as the Faiveley pantographs are being replaced by Russian sourced ones.
Not surprising given the current political climate

Just a bit more....seems these locos are fitted with four pantographs - 2x AC and 2x DC, and if needed then can be used in the relevant pairs

I study in Russian University of Rail Way. My professor told me, this is machine from France maybe, because we don’t have any information of this train. And I want to know, where this pantograph from. Sorry, my English not good :(

A quick Google search suggests that both the AX023BULT and the AX024BMLT are unique to the EP20. All the pages mentioning them are in Russian.

What's the actual project - are you trying to reverse-engineer them?

This page shows that the manufacturer was Faiveley
however the link to the manual pdf is now dead - presumably deleted

However these two pages appear to have some tech details including diagrams

(note I'm not going to try posting a summary of these - they're all in Russian (which I can't speak) so I'd have no idea what to select)

So you're trying to reverse engineer parts you're no longer able to purchase
