I’m a morning coffee and afternoon tea person. I’ve never been into the “coffee culture “ that has spread though the last 20yrs. Surely a lot of posh coffees are just coffee with frothy milk and added flavours.
If anything, I'm the opposite. I depend on tea for breakfast but need coffee after lunch and dinner. Mid mornings I prefer tea, and mid afternoons I take as they come, but am more likely to want coffee if I've had cooked lunch.

I’m mostly a tea drinker but do usually have a mug of coffee first thing in the morning with breakfast. It’s always instant coffee, but I do have the premium freeze dried variety such at the Brazilian or Colombian Blends and sometimes the Italian style. I’m currently using a jar of Waitrose Italian style. I don’t drink enough coffee to justify buying any type of coffee maker or using ground coffee but I do find the premium instant coffees quite acceptable. Very occasionally I may have another coffee mid morning and keep some Taylor’s of Harrogate coffee bags in the house for this drink, but mostly from mid morning onwards I move onto tea for the rest of the day.

I much prefer loose leaf tea but do regularly also use teabags for convenience. If I’m just buying some ordinary teabags my choice would be Yorkshire Tea. However, most of the time I use more premium varieties like English Breakfast, Assam, Ceylon, Darjeeling etc. I do sometimes buy Twinings or Taylors of Harrogate but find supermarket brands like Waitrose and M&S to be very good for a much lower price. Whenever I am up in Yorkshire and visiting York or Harrogate I do like to buy a good supply of loose leaf tea from Betty’s.

I’ve never joined the coffee shop culture and except for when I’m out for a good few hours I rarely use them. I try to find a local independent coffee or tea shop whenever possible. My preference for premium teabags etc and buying loose leaf tea from Betty’s, may seem extravagant to some, but it is a fraction of the price that some people spend regularly in coffee shops.

I’m early 30s, most of my friends still really like tea, but they are perhaps not conventional.

I personally just don’t particularly like tea - I do try it every so often to see if I can enjoy it, but I don’t really enjoy it. Hopefully saying this doesn’t get be kicked out of Britain

I find coffee delicious though. As I’ve grown older, I’ve moved from Latte, Cappucino etc to just black coffee (usually with milk).

There will always be generational drift.

Most people I work with drink coffee during the work day at least. In the last office I worked in full time we went through more herbal tea bags than black tea bags. Not sure whether that was down to me drinking half a dozen fruit teas a day at work or not!

I don't drink much black coffee, though do enjoy espresso every now and then. I'm usually 'Americano'
