Not the first member of railway staff to be done for fraud. Steve McColl, who was one of VSOE's directors, was convicted of obtaining money by deception in 2001, using a company of his own (which had a very similar name to a legit railway business) to invoice VSOE for work never carried out, if my memory is correct.
