Tax discs after 1 October

Will buses remove their tax discs after 1 October or just leave them on the window? The reason I ask is that a lot of them are secured by tamper proof tax disc holders.

Although tamper proof - how do they remove them when they go out of date every year. I imagine they will remove them in the same way.

Tamper proof means it cannot be amended if it is removed, not that it can't be removed.

Although there will no longer be a requirement to display the tax disc, there will be no requirement to remove them so presumably it'll be up to the individual operators.

I wonder if some of them will be left on the windscreen indefinitely until the windscreen needs replacing or even until the bus gets scrapped? Obviously the same applies to other motor vehicles.

There already is. Go to a car show and a lot of cars have period discs on I display.
