I have to get from Basingstoke to Portsmouth Harbour on Saturday 20 Sep. My daughter is coming from Waterloo on the direct train arriving at Portsmouth Harbour at 12.02. I'd like to join her at Woking. Our time to catch the return trains is (same day) variable from 19.45. For me, I would like to have the option to catch the direct train to Basingstoke if the timing suits.
I have the, possibly wicked, notion that if I use Tap2Go for out via Woking, back either direct or via Woking, I would be charged the Anytime Day Return fare that assumes the direct route only.
Given that my only "tickets" are the taps in and out. What is there to prevent this?
