Tamworth Connection Time

Morning all,
I am hoping to go out on Saturday (Health permitting).

I have a connection at Tamworth of 6 minutes.
1F11 Euston to Liverpool stops at Tamworth at 07:43 arriving on Platform 1

Departing Tamworth at 07:49 on 1V44 Leeds to Plymouth departing on Platform 4
I know there are stairs and lifts but is 6 minutes enough time?

Currently have a health issue meaning I cannot rush anywhere.

Thoughts please.

Unless anything's changed since I last used the station, it will be quite tight but should be manageable if everything's on time. If memory serves you'll want to be as close to the extreme rear of 1F11 as you can get, but I don't know precisely where the lift is so this may be incorrect. It's very easy to get lost at Tamworth, but you should be fine as platform 1 has the building as a reference.

Yes my thoughts are similar. As long as the trains are on time then 6 minutes is easily enough time even at a leisurely (health friendly!) pace. Is the connection a critical one or would you be okay if you got the next the train? I think that's the key issue for me. If it's not critical then I'd say go for it, if it is critical it might be worth replanning to allow a longer interchange.

It’s a very long time ago now, before my mobility issues which now prevent me from running, but in about 1994 I used to change there off an HST from Gloucester into 87+Mark 3 which was first stop Wilmslow, so a nice way of avoiding the Birmingham New Street hassle. I actually lived in Bath, but had customers in Gloucester whom I could visit before heading to Wilmslow.

Thanks all,

It's so I can get to Birmingham earlier than the 07:10 from Euston.

It maybe prudent to travel a little later then. and push the day out a bit more rather than risk missing a connection (AWC always seem to have delays when I travel on them even that early).

Very risky.
According to RTT, 1F11 arrived Tamworth 07:45 1/2 on Saturday 7 March, and was cancelled on 14 March......

And opening train doors is not always rapid. you will need to use the stairs on the south side of the High Level overbridge. Lift available, but will be slow if lift is at High Level platform when you arrive.
