Synopsis
Richard Wescott goes behind the scenes at one of the UK's busiest stations Kings Cross in London, with Duty Manager Paul Barber.

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of Dr Beeching's controversial report 'The reshaping of British Railways'.

Beeching, who was tasked with making the railways profitable again, closed thousands of stations and hundreds of branch lines

Saw that on BBC Breakfast this morning, a short view, can't see the vid.

Was lucky enough when I was working at The Cross to speand a few day trips up there both morning and evening peaks as well.

Its an amazing place and the work they do during disruption is stunning.

Its like a giant model railway just without the trains and only a zero 7 to play with.
