Indeed, so the question is why would we want to, and where should it go if we d want it!

So much for German efficiency!

I think the Sydney example was much more pertinent owing to Kingsford Smith's proximity to Sydney CBD and the overnight curfew thus severely limiting our Australian friends from expanding their aviation industry at what is arguably their national airport.

The aviation expansion debate in this country is complicated by nimby bickering and South East airports vying for a new runway - interesting I saw this campaign from LGW on the tube the other day.

Re: HS2, I think I read somewhere that every day a mile of track could be laid..meaning Phase 2 could be *built* in under five months..
