Yes I know, but in this case you don't need an easement as there are no direct PInhoe-St James Park trains and so the doubling back rule is trumped by the shortest distance rule. A similar situation occurs for pasengers from Dunbar to Drem who are allowed to travel via Edinburgh even tho the train from Dunbar passes through Drem. It doesn't need an easement as its the shortest route.

There is a rule that you can not pass through a station twice unless there is an easement to permit it in the fares manual.
Did you read embers25's post above yours though?

If you enforced the "no doubling back" rule and did not allow people to take the shortest route over which regular passenger trains operate, then many journeys for which tickets are sold would be impossible. Clearly that cannot be the case.

There's a possibility that there will be a new Scot-rail local service from Edinburgh to Dunbar or maybe Newcastle, subject to funding, so that would eliminate that move.

Not helpful!

I'd enjoy my work, more if I think I was on the freight side of things now, however I think I'd lose my priv boxes etc, so no chance of that happening.

I'd like to move on, however that means starting again from scratch & being treated like a kid, which I'm not, I've been driving for just a few months under a ¼ of a century!
