Hi all, just got my start date for new job of guard (non commercial) at SWT- can't wait! Just a quick question what's the uniform allocation I.e how many shirts etc do you get?:D Other than clothing what else is considered standard issue and can anyone recommend a decent make of shoes that are comfortable considering the walking involved :D

The only clothing you will need to provide is socks and underwear, everything else is provided.
Just make sure you measure yourself before going in for your first day, the sizing is not generous so it might be worth adding a little bit on.

I think you get 2x trousers/skirts, 5 shirts/blouses, 1 pair of shoes, 2x blazers, 1 winter coat plus other stuff I can't remember.

The uniform isnt very good quality (especially the trousers) but is sufficient. When you need some new uniform just see your manager.

That's much the same as anywhere else; I'm yet to find somewhere that issues good quality uniforms...

I've been through two or three types of uniform with this employer, and the only half decent one is what I had to order myself and even that falls to bits.

Even the exceedingly expensive safety boots I ordered have already started breaking after very little use, zips are broken on trousers, etc.

455driver has pretty much summed it up about uniform allocation, the jackets aren't too bad but the trousers could be better. Make sure you take your allowance of thermals for the winter! ;) Well done guys and good luck. :)
