I didn't know SWT refurbed them with SWT colours inside - I assumed they were like SOuthEastern's units (rubbishey NSE upholstery). There's a picture in a book I've got about southern slammers in their final years, and one of SE's VEP units in 2004 at Sevenoaks, in very faded NSE livery, filthy, and half the windows filled with condensation in the centre (with some with 3 inches of water in the bottom ) Is this what SWT's remaining CIGs are like inside?

Yes, they all got the red seat covers around 2001-2002 and were generally well maintained internally right up to the end, same goes for the CEPs that SWT inherited from SET in the late 1990s. I think the Lymington Heritage units still retain the redupholstery inside too.

They do indeed retain their refurbed seats. Was on the them the other week. Still going strong...... Even 1499 still retains its origional seats, albeit with some extra motifes thanks to the local lydneites that trashed it...
