Hi, I have an interview with SWTfor the maintenance technician position at Wimbledon Traincare Depot. I am currently researching the company ie routes, the fleet, different types of rolling stock EMU/DMU's and the third rail system. I just want to know what else should I revise/ research? Will they ask me technical questions? I am an Aircraft electrical technician by trade, rolling stock systems is completely new for me. Any help will be greatly received. Thanks!!!!P

Hi Nathan, You should have no problem with the interview from your background, trying looking on you tube at network rail videos, and sites like ' How it works ' although some uploads are american you can still read the items that interest you. just type in 3rd rail shoe gear see what the search engine produces. when i went for my interview they asked me stuff about bridge rectifiers ac/dc, health and safety, also try researching the drivers safety devices, dsd, tpws (train protection warning system), dra button, (drivers reminder when stopped at station or red signal), how you would deal with customers if on a station turn or if attending a failure. coshh regs (disposal of batteries/acid) the correct waste in the correct skip/bin scenario. walking on the correct and authorized walking routes on depot, seems alot but just answer the best you can and keep thinking health and safety. good luck mi old mucker!!
