The "South West" isn't very rough TBH, perhaps you are refering to the London/South/South East area.

We all like in farm houses and drive Land Rovers all over the place in order to care for our cows.

Hmm. I take it you havent been to Plymouth recently then.
I revisited this month after a break of 3 years and was amased at how run-down the city had become generally. A plush new shopping centre had opened but this had resulted in half the city centre comprising of empty and closing down shops.

It must have more big issue sellers than even Glasgow!

Northern keep graffiti units on the line, which i see no problem with. it is better than short formations, it's just to get you from A-B, Ive been on many graffiti units (90% Northern rail, they have it bad, the north-west is the worst area for railway crime according to NR)

N is for Northern but M is for Metro, and "Gravesy woz ere 2k7" is for we haven't got enough units.

That's true, but nothing is stopping them re-investing what profit they have...

but what's the point? at the end of the day, TOCs have little power in what goes on. For some reason the DafT seems to not like three areas in the UK (funnily enough, it's those areas that are not 'posh' or 'rich' enough... The Great West, East Midlands, and the north)

but what's the point?

Hire in a few EWS 37s and WCRC 47s, some dodgy Mark 2s, delay by 2 months due to safety case issues, then... Ching, Ching and, I say it again, Ching.

Take today for example, Westbury - Cardiff Rugex. Now, by Bristol Temple Meads there were quite a few Rugby fans on, but it still only made up about half of the train's load. This was with Skips, so put something rateable on and Bob is your Uncle.

Northern Rail? Graffiti? You sure...!

Yes you get the odd bit every now and then, but certainly not much compared with London/SE!
