SWT at Gloucester

I was at Gloucester today, and FGW were using a refurbished South West Trains class 158 (158-881), it was working most of the FGW Swindon to Cheltnham Spa services. Why was FGW using a SWT 158

FGW lease a unit a day to operate Swindon-Cheltenham Spa services, working on an out and back diagram from Salisbury so the unit can change every day. The diagram can not change.

They must have stolen the keys at bristol and driven off with it.

That explains the SWT 158 I saw at Cheltenham last Thurs !

Strikes me that FGW are always short of stock yet they were the ones that stopped leasing the 180s :roll:

They are short of sprinters on the Local side, I'm not sure if they are getting any LM 150s next year when the 172s come on stream (are they even in build yet?) Certainly nothing really suitable for a 180
