I'm attending an assessment day for a Ticket Office job with South West Trains on Monday. I know it will involve sitting a test (have been completing the practice ones for the last week or so) but just wondered if anyone could give me an idea what the rest of the assessment will comprise of? Also, if anyone has any advice for the day?

One other thing I wanted to check: the letter SWT sent me says it acts as my ticket to and from Southampton. I assume I can use this from my local station as long as I only travel with SWT. I'm sure this is the case, just wanted to be completely certain.

Not sure about the tests but the letter does indeed count as a travel ticket on SWT services, most Southern guards will accept it as well on services in the area but please ask them before boarding.

Thanks for reply. I thought that would be the case but as the letter didn't specify a point of departure I wanted to make sure it didn't just mean on the line down to Southampton.

Well don't take the **** and you'll be fine ;) the letter is authority to travel to and from the assessment centre.
