I am kind of shocked that it’s happening this quickly. Either way I’m as nervous as it gets but also extremely excited.

Anyone else heard anything?

Passed the computer tests today. They’re genuinely lovely people in their HR and really helpful at helping you remain calm.
Nothing, I believe they are doing this in order of application. I took some time to apply so it will probably take me a while to hear back with a date for an assessment.

Well done though, good luck for the next part!

Nothing since passing the online SJT. Could they be using the 'available start date/notice period' part of the application to prioritise order - I've heard in some cases it can take over a month to hear back? Good luck all!

As it was talent pools theres a high chance people won't hear back for a while.. If you've heard back quickly then I guess you've got very lucky and good luck!

How far has anyone got with this one, after the psychometric stage?

Don’t think very far. Emailed a couple weeks back and was told they are building a talent pool before they start MMI and DMI

That makes sense. Most likely in Prep for the 701 and the changes it will make including natural retirees.

Got invited to Assessment day yesterday. I applied for the Yeovil depot, so now the hard work revising begins

Fantastic. SWR seem to be moving quick then, I'm assuming you applied for the campaign on the 14th of may?

Hi guys, likewise I applied for a SWR trainee position (external) and have passed assessments. Now waiting on DMI and MMI.

I have of course heard of how in demand the role is, with huge numbers of applicants. Does anybody have any advice on preparing for the DMI in particular? Which is I’m told what I’ll be invited to next.

Also - all being well. Does anybody know how cutthroat the training stage is? Do a high percentage of people “bomb out” during training or do most go on to get a job?

Thanks in advance

I'm waiting for a DMI date. Only need to do the DMI and hopefully if passed it's a medical but just awaiting movement for Waterloo or Feltham which I'd have hoped would be sped up by the new trains arrival but seeing the introduction isn't going an planned I can tell it will be a slight wait.

I applied for Basingstoke back in January but haven't heard anything since then. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hey all. I also applied back in Jan 24 (external). Passed the online SJT, but no further updates re assessments. I did enquire and was assured my application remains in process, that I would be contacted to discuss next steps when there is any change. So ultimately no idea on timings. Good luck to those further along in the application process.

Anyone else seen movement for this campaign? I applied for a later one but was wondering how far this got.

I'm assuming movement is slightly slow due to the 701s not rolling out as expected and thus some staff movements that usually can create opportunity not appearing.

Yep, got the call last week inviting me for an assessment for Basingstoke depot. Applied back in January.

May seem all quiet on the South Western front but they are getting through applicants.

Lovely, I'm a bit ahead of that stage but knowing the depot I applied for it could be a while as its quite a small depot.

Going to be a long wait I see but could be made quicker come the start of full training on the new fleet. SWR would be a fab place to train with from what I hear.
