Best of luck to everyone who is sitting the assessments in the next few weeks. Highly recommend doing some practice for all parts because I can confidently say, it helped me a lot on the day(s). Completed my part 2 today and passed

Nice well done! What practice did you do for part 2?

To be honest with you not a whole lot. For the vigilance test i sharpened my reactions with any “reaction test” you can find online or on the App Store etc. With the atavt it was difficult to find any quality practice material so I made up some of my own with the help of my partner - there are some on YouTube but after the first go or two you remember the answers. 2 hand coordination I just relied ok my ability to play call of duty haha, although the controls were inverted to what I’m normally used to. All in all I’d say just sharpen your reactions and YouTube some atavt tests. Keep calm and collected and remind yourself to focus on the task ahead. Mis clicks and wrong identification can happen but try to move past it and bring your attention back to what’s infront of you. All the best

What was the details of the inversion for the 2 hand co ord test. Was the left stick up and down inverted and right stick, left and right inverted?

Anybody else in the same, slightly curious, position as me; I applied to the Salisbury (only) position back in December. Successfully passed the initial, online tests, but since then nothing...no screening, nothing...is it unusual not have been rejected two months down the line, yet also not progressed?! TIA.

Railway recruitment is notoriously incredibly slow. I also believe they are recruiting new recruitment staff at SWR, so that might also have an effect.

Hi, can anyone who has done the first assessment give me any advice as to what the set up is on the day? I have mine next week, just wondering if I need to take lunch etc for the day? Thank you

Hopefully I've just sent you the link privately. Best of luck for tomorrow
Hi there, I don't suppose you could send me the link also? I am beginning to practice for my OPC assessment and feel this would be perfect to support me.

Just an update, I had my DMI last week and I felt it went very well! Biggest advice is to remember safety at all times when answering (probably read this a lot but it’s important). I was lucky enough to have two great managers who made the experience much more enjoyable. I’d also advise researching about the company to a certain extent, my toc didn’t require in depth research but they were very pleased with my general understanding of operations, regions etc.

Remember they want you to succeed, why would they pick you otherwise?

Bust of luck to anyone who is looking to have their DMI soon!

That's great news, was it for Salisbury by any chance? I've been waiting a couple of weeks now to hear back when mine will be arranged.

Applied in December, for Salisbury. Very excited to still be in with a chance (haven't been screened out), but I guess it's a case of holding on still and being patient. Anyone else still waiting to hear back on any of the above vacancies? :)

Did MMI yesterday. Same as other information on here, ensure you bang on about safety and remain calm they’re not there to catch you out. And have your examples ready as you get time to write them before hand and have more then 5-10 mins to think of your answers.

I will see some of you guys then! I applied for the campaign before this for Waterloo and start June 9th. The training centre is in Basingstoke, so SWR territory.
