Hi all,

I noticed on the SWR touch cards, that there's a standard, standard plus, and first class in the top strip. My question is, who gets what version? Do I need to be a manager to get a first class or standard plus card? Do you get 'SD' when you first get issued the cards and then over time, move up to 'SD+' and then eventually 'First'?

Memory serves that the lower levels of management get SD+ which is first class privileges off peak and only those near the top of the tree get 1st.

STD+ plus is for managers , first class is permitted OFF PEAK.

Standard, first class not permitted and if caught by managers you could be liable for disciplinary action

1st - higher level managers and execs

I don't think that is quite right, but could be wrong. STD+ is not just for Off Peak, but is for leisure purposes only 1st Class for senior management and exec are allowed to use 1st Class at any time, whether at work or leisure.

There is a caveat however, if other passengers are paying for their fares then out of respect seats should be vacated to allow fare going passengers to sit - this is regardless of whether STD, STD+ or 1st Class, and is of course the correct way to treat fare paying customers!
