SWR / Southern Drivers

Good Morning,

Would anyone have any information (even speculative!) regarding whether SWR or Southern may be recruiting qualified drivers in the near future?

Looking in and around the London area. Tried contacting their respective HR departments a while ago and am still none the wiser! Cheers

Used to be a driver at SWT/SWR. Mates who are still there have said HR have become way more picky about who they choose as they've been flooded with applicants (qualified included) since they got their pay rise. May explain why they're slow to reply.

Don't think that, in my time driving there at least, I ever came across someone who was qualified who wanted to transfer in. Now they're absolutely swamped! Some depots I remember being incredibly toxic, but I'm sure current drivers will weigh in.

Southern used to only advertise for Qualifieds at Gatwick Express from where you can move internally to Southern depots. They did, however, advertse for Qualifieds at all their depots in 2019

I looked at SWR once and sent an email. Took maybe a year before they invited me to an interview.

Thanks for the replies & help guys - much appreciated. Guess I'll just keep plugging away and hope something comes up at some point!

I'm actually happy at my current TOC but not happy with my commute lol and the work/life balance is suffering a bit so looking for the change.
