SWR Smartcard

Hi,
I have a SWR smartcard. Does this literally mean i can buy a ticket on the SWR website and it automaticlly goes on my smartcard, and i dont have to go to any ticket machine, and when the conductor comes to check tickets, i just need to show him my smartcard.?

I want to buy Feltham to Reading return on a weekday.

When i tried to do it, it seemed to be forcing me to select exact certain go and return train times......is this a requirement?
I just want an Anytime day return.....will go at approx 7am and come back approx 1830 hrs

Also, in a few weeks , i will want to buy a weekly season from Feltham to Reading....is this all possible on the smartcard?

Also, on the way, when the train gets to wokingham, i may well need to get out and wait for someone outside wokingham station, then re-enter wokingham station, and continue on to reading...so presumably this is possible as wokingham is on the way from feltham to reading....and i wont need to pay extra to get out of, then back into, wokingham station?

The smartcard doesn't have an internet connection or even a battery of its own. It's effectively a memory stick containing your ticket, that communicates wirelessly rather than by being plugged in.

So yes, you will need to load your ticket onto your smartcard. You can either do this at a ticket machine, a standalone validator (if your station doesn't have barriers) or using a smartphone with the National Rail Smartcard Manager app (or SWR's app).

If you've loaded your ticket onto your smartcard, yes.

The reason you're required to select a train there and back is to make sure you're being sold the correct and cheapest fare for your intended journey. Once you have bought that fare you can take any train it permits - i.e. with an Anytime Day Return, any train that day.

Yes that would be fine. Season tickets and all Anytime tickets permit a break of journey at stations along permitted routes. Most Off-Peak tickets also permit it.
