SWR Repaints and Refurbishments

To save me searching, has anything been mentioned about reverting the 450/5s to the same layout as the other members of the class? Given the aim of the interior mods seems to be to provide a small number of extra standard class seats, and the 450/5s are all presumably going to be 'general use' after completion of all the internal cascades, it would seem odd to leave the small number of seats off...

Interesting as I thought that the 458/5s would just get a vinyl SWR logo (like the one with the mismatched blue!). Suggests the 458/5s might be the last out of the 455s/456s/707s/458s to leave, which could make sense. Porterbrook must also be happy to have vinyls slapped on the fleet.

I'm still expecting at least -one- of those unit classes to still be in service by the franchises end. SWR's timetable for introducing 90 units is highly ambitious even without the current industrial dispute.

It seems a full rebrand was not on the cards as first advised. It has been rebranded in the correct shade of blue.

It is ambitious and I would be very surprised if all were in service by Dec 2020. However, I can't see the introduction being four years late. A year late is probably reasonable.

First class was reinstalled on them ages ago! The only difference now is that the /5s have extra handrails.

They aren’t concentrated on the Richmond side anymore either, they are all jumbled around now.

I saw a SWR livered 158 at Salisbury today - The branding does look a little bland, especially compared to the SWT red/orange/white livery on another 158 it was stabled next to.

I have to admit that there’s no worse colour scheme I dislike more than blue yellow and red combined, and while the new SWR livery is nothing amazing, it does look an awful lot better for me. Just can’t help thinking the logo doesn’t quite look right.

I think it really helps not having

in big letters on the end. Having the branding twice on each coach is very First (they love overbranding things) but looks terrible.

In that form it's drab and boring but inoffensive.

I think the livery on the repainted 444 would look so much better if the full logo was on the front and rear cars only. It looks out of place on the middle three coaches.

I was wondering the same too. If its still out of service, I wonder if this will return in full SWR livery and interior? Depends on where it is though, my guess is that its at Wolverton

001 and 002 are SWR branded as well as another pair in the higher twenties (can't remember which ones sorry).
