The 458/5 I'm supposed to be working later has been substituted by a 450, and by the looks of it was also substituted yesterday. Anyone happen to know why this is please? Hoping it's just a temporary thing for the time being.
"Removed (from Derby Lit) to local scrap yard" (it does not actually say which scrap yard:
December 2025: 5714 5730 5703 5872 5734 (all cars), 5863 (2 cars):
January 2026: 5863 (2 cars), 5723, 5720, 5709 (all cars).
No doubt there have been more since.
Interestingly, the RM also says that 5868 has been sold to Opus Group, so it looks like this might well be going for scrap after all.

Opus might use it for static offices, (like Ian Allen had a carriage) but they do have a scrap company.

According to real-time trains, it's first service 2R02 was cancelled due to a problem with the onboard safety Systems.
458530 now allocated to the 2S47 etc diagram.

And did not the last 455/8 left at Wimbledon go without the Strawberry Hill one ?. I might have lost track but if not then there is only one 455/8 left on SWR anyway.

Pretty sure 5871 did "Train B" on the farewell tour, attached to 5727, I'd imagine that was the last time it carried passengers, not sure about 873.
5870 left on 22nd January without any other 455 unit.
5871 was last in passenger service on 23rd December, and 5873 on 28th December.

When the path was posted on se-gen a few days ago it was listed as one unit only, so presumably 455 873 is the only victim this time.
