I've this morning seen a message on SE gen stating that tomorrow's move is 455 854 plus one of either 455 866 or 455 874.

37 800 will be the traction.

A number of others are stopped either because of lack of miles one way or another, or big faults which may well not see them return to service, so it could be any of those. Ones I'm aware of are 5707, 5708, 5731, 5733, 5750, 5866, and 5903.

5731 and 5854 were both running on Monday. 5733 is in service as I type.

I'm happy to post a list of units in service once or twice a week. Is this thread the right place to do that or should I start a new one?

5856 has also not been seen in service since last weekend so wonder if that’s stopped.

5856 was taken off for a bearing failure investigation on Tuesday(?) I think so might take a while.

Yeah looks like 5874 is also on its way. Sorry my reference isn't always complete as I really only look at them on the side rather than being my focus. I'm sure there are other ones stopped which I haven't really come across myself.

I really would be interested @Bikeman78. Although I've photographed them during SWT days and during the refurb program, I stopped until the Class 701s started making inroads.

The scrap move has been reported on SE gen as being 455 866 + 455 874, so 455 854 has escaped the scrapman for a few days...

I'm pretty sure I saw 455 874 out and about last week or the week before, so presumably it's suffered some kind of failure that's simply not worth teh cost of repairing?

The last in service dates that I have down for 5866 + 5874 was 28.07.25 when they were paired together. Obviously, this is dependent upon the data passed down from SWR to RTT being correct. However, 5854 was in passenger service last week on 12.08.25

It was a late change yesterday but there should be nothing stopping 5913 from going into service today. From what I understand there is sufficient coverage of the 455 fleet now so there is no pressing need to get it into service.

They are just sitting in Clapham Yard at the moment, I haven't heard anything about them going off lease and they have been shunted around a bit so I don't think they are leaving us just yet

I would wager if you don't, one day in the future you'll regret not making the effort. I was actively involved in the planning of something very similar (last days of the 4 SUB's), but it was just part of the job at the time, and only have a few photo's of those times, far less than I could have taken had I been inclined!

No I agree, the sooner the 455s and ratty four remaining 458/5s are gone, the better, in my opinion. The 458/4s and 701s I do like, but they need to ditch the New Celia announcements.
