SWR New Timetable from May 2019

Hi

I was under the impression that the new timetable is planned to be in place in May.

Any news on this and/or draft timetables given that we are only 5 months away from May. I am particularly interested in Reading/Windsor lines post the consultation.

Sadly not, our 4tph to Reading amongst other things is currently fictitious.

Welcome. I don’t think it’s all guaranteed for May at all.
There is another general thread running about May 19 changes, where someone has already noted that some of the planned Guildford/Aldershot/Farnham/Ascot area service changes appear to be happening, but that may be easier to do as it might not have as significant extra power requirements, and may not impact on other TOCs timetables.

Thanks. Really disappointing given that changes were due in December

The reason I thought something might be happening in May was the local residents in Feltham have been told that the bridge widening by the station may not be complete before the crossing there is taken out of use. The reason being given is SWR wanting to introduce the new timetable. Given the above, it might be the council making an assumption rather than being backed up by any facts...

Many of the Windsor Line changes are now fairly easy to do so will probably happen in May (the council probably has things right), the other comments were around SWML service changes and the non "Portsmouth" changes being do-able but Portsmouth not (Power supply issues).

If swr and the DfT have learnt anything from last may and the gtr and northern fiasco that is not to do a big bang style change.

Do the changes incrementally wherever possible, though sometimes larger recasting of the timetable and paths is unavoidable, especially in the congested peak time in the London area.

The bus map giving details of diversions during the bridge works shows that these apply until 17.00 on 28th February 2019. Having said that if the road reopens at 16.59 on that day I will be amazed!

Yes I think they have been delayed because of the crane accident and other issues. The leaflet locals have been given states that the crossing could close before works are completed...
