We used to have things called books when I was a lad. Trains used to have windows that you could look out of and watch the scenery go by. Have we brought up a generation with no attention span?

I don't think you've ever been to Lincolnshire...

We also have a lot of windows replaced with plastic panels.

Don't get these "media server" things...something wrong with a good ol' bit of working WiFi? I certainly manage!
What happens if you want to watch a TV series that isn't particularly available online anywhere anymore? Or don't have a subscription to NowTV, Netflix or anything?

Now, if Virgin got their act together you'd be able to watch something on their Beam app, then head home and continue watching it through a TiVo box.

Yes. "We" have.
That's why you see kids these days with the TV on in the background but scrolling through their phones. One thing isn't enough any more. I believe there is also a correlation with the increase in ADHD as time has gone on.

Yes, we have got to the point where technology is increasingly being used as a substitute for thinking and awareness. That is why you have so many smart-phone-dumb-users wandering around almost bumping into other people or stepping into the road without looking, because the edge of their visible universe is two meters from their body. No information can be transmitted or received beyond this distance.

Just a camera mounted at the front would be amazing like the tail cameras on A380s.
