Received email yesterday saying some courses about to run for guards at some depots. Said will have to do assessments and brief interview again due to time. Anyone else received? I'd been accepted for Salisbury and Yeovil

I thought assessment results were valid for 3 years?

Hi All,

I have passed everything, passed the assessments, passed the interview and done my medical for Guildford Guard in Jan 2021 and then Covid hit. so I been told there will no new training will commence until further notice. It has been over a year and I am still waiting for training date and obviously medical.

HR keep on saying their is no movement at the depot and hang on tight. Does anyone have any information regarding when new guard training for Guildford will start? what are my options?

Congratulations! No-one on here will have any better access to information than HR so unfortunately it’s a case of sitting tight. I’d keep in touch with them once a month to keep your name in their minds.

I passed my interview in September 2020 and I was finally given a medical last week. I had to re-do my interview though because your interview results expire after 6 months. I wasn’t aware of that.

I passed my interview in September 2020 and I was finally given a medical last week. I had to re-do my interview though because your interview results expire after 6 months. I wasn’t aware of that.

Congratulation. Long wait is over for you. Which depot you got medical for? I have inquired about the interview and i been told by HR nothing is required just wait for training date. Only have to do medical again. Nothing regarding re interview has been mentioned so far

Just had the wonderful phone call yesterday, passed the interview for commercial guard Farnham, expected start date May 23rd. Reading some of the posts on the forum helped , would recommend to anyone else.

Just had call from SWR recruitment asking if I’m still interested in the role after being offered a position 2 years ago pre pandemic.

My assessments are still valid but I need to have another interview (in 2 weeks) if successful a potential start date in may ! (Subject to medical) at Fratton.

Brilliant news for you Chumba, hope the interview will go well for you, sure it will. It's also good news for me, I also got told I was successful pre-pandemic in December 2019. HR told me I was 4th in the queue for Fratton during the last lockdown so now I guess I'm at least 3rd. Good to know theres been some movement. Happy Days

Hopefully the interview will be fine the last one was. HR did say a vacancy needs to be filled urgently starting end of may hence the quickness of interview etc.

Just had the same call from Recruitment as Chumba, interview next thursday for potential start in May. 2 immediate positions, 1 each in May and June, start dates will be offered in strict order of application so I may not get in for either of them but at least the ball is rolling again. Now just got to re pass the interview. Buzzing

Big day tommorrow, I think I'm pretty much prepared for my re-interview. I've got everything crossed. To be honest I'm more nervous about this one than I was in Dec 19. Knowing that I'd been successful then and was looking forward to a life changing career, and also knowing that my performance tommorrow could bring that journey to an end is quite daunting
