SWR dividing train announcements

I'm on an SWR train that divides at Bournemouth, with the front half going to Weymouth and the back half only to Poole. So both halves go to Poole, but the front half arrives 7 minutes sooner. Which might make all the difference if you've got 10 minutes till your bus leaves from the bus station, 10 minutes walk away. Predictably the auto-announcement says:

"Passengers for ..... Poole .... please make your way to the front half of the train. Passengers for ..... Poole ..... please make your way to the rear half of the train."

Maybe the guard will make a useful manual announcement at some point.

See It. Say It. Said It!

Ah yes! A manual announcement, saying exactly the right thing. Well done.

I've seen the same with the Portsmouth/Bognor splitters on southern, where both portions call at Barnham 20 minutes apart, rarely is it corrected!

I have noticed recently at Clapham Junction that the "travel in the rear 5 coaches for xxx" message doesn't include places like Brockenhurst, Bournemouth and Poole when both portions stop there [a number divide at Southampton vice Bournemouth in the peaks], and is only shown in the "travel in the front 5 coaches" message- though I'm not sure if this is a recent change or I've never paid attention!

Could the rear half splitting that stops at the same terminating station as the front portion, use a false destination akin to the likes of Northern using Poppleton or Burley Park as the 'final destination' on the Harrogate Loop services.

This would be very sensible, followed by, 'Going forward to [true final destination]'.

Wouldn't be as easy on those splitters unfortunately, especially the ones which split at Southampton, as you still pass through Brockenhurst and Bournemouth on your way to Poole.

Why doesn't the train just split at Poole? Splitting at Southampton or Bournemouth must involve an extra driver to take the two halves separately to Poole.

One portion is fast, one is a stopper. Also, Bournemouth has the crew depot and all the infrastructure for regular splitting/attaching (from the days of the 4TC/33 formations), whereas poole is on a horrible curve.
