Both of the refurbished units on depot this week. Lots going on in “the background”, few things to sort before mainline testing can begin. Watch this space

458523 is being prepared for transport to Widnes from Bournemouth.

seems mad we are sending 458s to be refurbished and 707s to SE, with no current replacements
About time the 707s went where they’re intended. It’s absolutely not Southeastern’s problem that SWR ordered a fleet of apparently and allegedly unacceptable trains, and they’ve been more than generous as it is with their time, not that it was probably their decision to keep the last 12 for longer.

It was an agreement between the MD's of SE and SWR to allow them to keep them longer.

There is also the argument that SE don't need the 707s immediately SWR have a greater need for them

8525 went past the Park at 2353. A 47/7 leading, 57305 tailing. A few bushes in the way between New Sidings and the main line hence the UID 47 and no photo.

Noticed that a while ago. What a change from past times. Won't be able to see the shed at all from passing trains before long.......wonder if that embankment comes under the Depot or NR when it comes to vegetation? Suppose as long as they're not interfering with activity/sight lines on either 1 siding or UMF, then so be it - am all for encouraging tree growth where possible..

458405 departed Widnes late yesterday afternoon. The GBRf set was there all day so I presume it dropped off set 5 for refurb?

I'm not sure if it has been, the only departure I can see for that afternoon was 0M67 - 47749 heading off to Leicester LIP
Ah right, wondered why I'd not seen pics of it anywhere - it's usually a popular one for people to snap
