There appears to an earth-work ramp under construction at the north end of Earlsfield on the down-slow side of the embankment. There is also what looks like a temporary works crossing adjacent to this that spans all four tracks but there is nothing visible on the west side of the embankment. the latter has been there for sometime.

Does anyone know what this ramp is being constructed for?

Would it be for site access to the construction of the forth platform which was proposed a few years ago?

Edit:
Sorry, I've create this in the wrong forum - meant to under infra.

No problem - moved :)

We're always happy to move threads to the appropriate area, not a problem, feel free to use the report button (

) to alert us (as otherwise we might not spot it!)

Sorry I can't answer the question though; hopefully someone will come along shortly who does!

That ramp has been there for years and is used to access the line with motorised plant (diggers etc), it has been cleared recently so it is possible there is some engineering work scheduled requiring the plant access.

Yes I think that was the activity that drew my attention, but the ramp now appears to be wider. The works crossing is also still there but it seems to lead to nothing on the west side of the embankment. They are currently working on Earlsfield and I was wondering if they were about start on the fourth platform.

There was also a new concrete ramp constructed at the rear of New Covent Garden.
