SVR Winter Diesel Day 2024

Just returned from Worcestershire from a stop over at friends after visiting the SVR for the Winter Diesel Gala on December 30th

Had for haulage:

Had a chance to do the class 20/steamer & the Western/Peak combo but the class 40/50 was rammed so stayed put, a theme that repeated itself throughout the day

Not a bad way to end the year though.

It was a good one. I thought the Western seemed a little subdued, but the Peak was certainly giving it some!

It was stated in Railways Illustrated 261 (page 24, November 2024) that the 58 was planned to be used at the Winter Diesel Day - does anyone have any insight into why that didn't happen?

Saw the 58 hiding behind the sheeted over Western.
Don’t know if there were tsr’s but at times progress was a bit of a dawdle particularly towards the Bridgenorth end.
Also noted that there was a fair amount of coach swaying side to side & noticed that the track had been tampered
We were about 10 late arriving at Bridgenorth with the 50 & 40 on 2N11
We were going to do the Hst (1K16) to Arley which should’ve left Bridgenorth at 13:05 but felt it was worth the rush.
Chilled out & did 40106 back to Kidderminster on 2K18.

All in all though not a bad day
