SVH tickets -is the other half excess able?

Yesterday, I bought a SVH and a super off single in the other direction to qualify for the SVH. (incidentally... Bizarre to me that it is cheaper that way than just an off peak single!)

Can I now excess this super off peak single to a super off peak return, or is it somehow tied in as the return leg of the SVH?

If you can find a booking office willing to do so. There aren't any rules preventing it.
