Support for the monarchy in Scotland?

I do have to say that picking a service to the one country in Great Britain not known for it's huge enthusiasm for the monarchy is certainly a choice...

Scots have a great affection for the monarchy, it's the union they're less keen on (but a majority still support). And the monarchy has a deep affection for Scotland - hence Balmoral and the period of residence at Holyrood house.

Support for the monarchy has been almost consistently falling in Scotland, and it's now under 50% in polls (https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...support-for-monarchy-falls-to-45-poll-reveals). That poll was also taken before Elizabeth died, and (this is my feeling from living here) Charles is a lot well less liked than her.

I think you're right about a reduction in support after the death of the queen and some recent articles about SNP comments on the monarchy have mentioned the low support in Scotland compared to England and Wales. It's certainly not the case that 'Scots have a great affection for the monarchy'

That said it doesn't seem that much of an issue for a service between Edinburgh and London that will spend most of the trip in England.

SNP comments on the monarchy have mentioned the low support in Scotland compared to England and Wales.

The SNP do not in any way speak for the entire population of Scotland.

I am not an SNP supporter in any way but I still oppose the monarchy. And besides, the SNP's policy is to keep the monarchy after independence (which I strongly disagree with).
