Being in a totally dead work at 7am meant I couldn't stay up to watch it in an attempt to figure out what was going on (as I have done unsuccessfully for the last few years)!

I enjoyed the first half as a die-hard Ravens fan (been following them since the beginning of the broadcast because they had a more interesting name).

Fell asleep during the power cut trying to watch in bed on my phone...

Naturally as a Redskins fan I didn't want the trophy to be going to the Ravens :(

To be honest it was like watching Manchester United vs Liverpool, as in don't want either to win ;) That said, it's the Superbowl so it's a must see event.

Sadly for me I was cream crackered and had to go to bed at the start of the 2nd quarter, looks like they had fun with a powercut and everything. I hear they set a new record too with Jocoby Jones on an 11 second 108 yard return :D

Next year, The Redskins will win it :D (yeah right).

That is the best thing about the NFL, you can quite easily go from worst to first or vica versa. I think the Redskins are 1 or 2 players away from progressing further through the playoffs (a QB who isnt injured would help ;) ) but I thought it was a game of 2 blowouts, Ravens before the power cut and the 49ers afterwards.

Beyonce isn't my taste in music and after watching her performance, I still hate it, I couldn't hear her 'singing' over the loud music. I suppose that what happens nowdays with singers, they record everything in a studio and then lip-sync everything.

Overall the better team on the day won, and the first by the AFC champions in 4 years

I think they said it is repeated on the red button on BBC at 19.00 tonight (Mon) as well as on Sky Sports.

I made it through to 4am - just. A superb game (although I know it's not to everyones taste), it seems the Ravens name was on the trophy after their equally exciting win over Denver in the play-offs.

I made it until about 6 mins clock time left in the second quater. Then I just had to sleep. So I missed all the excitment of the power cut and what sounds like a dismal performance from Beyonce.

From what I saw it was a good game though, I was routing for the Ravens to win. They arn't a team I support, but seeing as I had to choose one. So I chose the Ravens because they have purple in their colours.

Of course I'm disapointed that the Patriots didn't make it. They did last year but unfortinatly lost against the Giants.

I have less than no interest in American egg chasing Rugby League for softies. The super cup final thing is 46 years old. WOW. The league Cup is older!

Why anyone in this country has the slightest interest in this show is beyond me. At least you can respect the egg chasers in the UK; they crash into each other without pads at a much higher tempo and in a much faster more physically demanding and frankly harder and manlier game. The yank egg chasers are wrapped up with helmets and body armour ( which seem to cause more injuries than they prevent) and have 4 goes to chuck the ball 10 yards, then they have a sit down while we listen to some messages from our sponsors, then they change all the players and try again. They need two teams each because you can only defend or attack (god forbid you should do BOTH -I mean imagine having to run about constantly for the whole game)! Then they have a team of extra players who do simple jobs like kick the ball. They seem to think a goal kick from 30 yards is a massive distance!

It is mindless, tedious, manufactured, franchised, packaged rubbish aimed at the lowest common denominator. AND I hate the fact they allow them to churn up Wembley stadium every year!

But well done to the Boise Badgers and the Milwaukie Milkmen for reaching the cup final. You should be very proud. Biggest sport in the world, my rse. I dislike this spectacle with a passion and wish it go the coverage it deserved in the uk.0.

I'll agree with DarloRich providing he stands up and says all that in Max's Taphouse in Baltimore :)

It's always seemed to me that it's a game that statisticians love. As for appealing to the lowest common denominator, well it does in a way - but if you've ever been to the local airports of whichever city has the final, it's full of corporate jets from Gulfstreams and Globals, right down to the humble Eclipse. It's big business in the States, even if I do find it an utterly tedious and pointless game.

Well there's plenty to chose from although they do put some strange ingredients in some of them. However I fear that once you've made your speech you'll need more than a helmet and body armour, and the locals will only need one go to chuck you 10 yards, if not further.

Baltimore won the egg cup by the way.

Nothing wrong with strange ingredients in beer. Something that the Americans do quite well too! It's just a shame about their taste in sport! Baseball is ok, but American Football?! Doh!

But baseball was invented over here. Having said that, I saw an entire live match once (Toronto Blue Jays vs some American side, I'm pleased to say the Blue Jays won) and it threw me somewhat, until I worked out that it was backwards, at least compared with cricket. The batsmen are attacking rather than defending. Still, it compares fairly well with a decent Twenty20 match.
