a little help please, a family friend is flying out of Gatwick on Sunday 1/10/23, at 0800, and lives in Brighton, will she be able to take the train up to Gatwick? with the strike on Sat and Monday...

Looking at Real Time Trains there seems to be a 04:20 then 05:36 departure from Brighton to Gatwick Airport arriving 05:03 and 06:27 respectively at Gatwick. I think I would keep checking during the week in case of alterations, all other services from Brighton including to Haywards Heath are replacement bus services for onward rail connections..

No sat night drivers to prep any units so it would have to be a driver starting first thing Sunday.

From memory Sunday working at GTR didn't start that early so getting into LGW around 06:00 could be a bit of a push.

There best hope would be that a special turn is created via short term planning with an early start i.e 04:00

Just watching GMB local news and flights are being capped to 800 today due to Air Traffic Control illness - much of it COVID related. Hopefully sorted by Sunday.
