Sunday Out Travelcard restricted?

I have been looking up fares for some friends who are travelling to Woolwich DLR from Basingstoke on Sunday 19 Jan. Then they're picking up the Tube at Canary Wharf to return to Waterloo and Basingstoke. I can only get an offer of a Sunday Out Travelcard for a few later (after 19.00) return journeys. Anyone know why? Tried on the SWR App and the Forum's site.

Are you sure you've got the right date? Those are the restrictions for the Evening Out Travelcard.

Possibly I'm freaking it out by putting Woolwich Arsenal as the destination. When I just entered Underground & DLR Zones 1-6 on the SWR app it gave the £19.90 fare (incl Railcard discount) for all options.

The problem is that Basingstoke-Waterloo is affected by engineering work at Wimbledon and therefore the quickest journeys are via the Elizabeth Line and Reading. If you specify via Woking (which is the routing) you get the right answer

I guess that's it. I saw that the journey times were extended but didn't look further into the itineraries.

Yes, direct trains (and journeys within three miles of the shortest possible) are valid without further rules. I mentioned the missing easements because of a journey I was asked to check today (Clapham Junction to Fleet). Such a temporary concession wouldn't be needed for a direct train
