What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
With the often proposed curves at Camp Hill in Birmingham which would enable trains to and from the Gloucester and Derby directions to use the ex Great Western platforms at Moor Street (including dedicated tracks and the closure of Bordesley so as not to get in the way of the Stourbridge trains via Snow Hill), I have designed a suggested timetable which is attached to this post.

Some notes:

1) I am unsure about the status regarding the reopening of Brighton Road, as some reports say it will, some say not, and some say maybe. I know that the former Lifford station definitely will not be reopening at all.

2) Hazelwell station will be relocated to Pineapple Bridge so as to provide bus interchange with the Outer Circle 11 and the 35.

3) The track layout at Kings Norton I am unsure if a crossover would be required or not, as I have had a look at the Sectional Appendix (London North Western South, Page 223, 21/10/2017) and Google Maps and cannot see a crossover at Lifford East so as to run into the island platforms. Furthermore, although the terminating trains can shunt to the yard and back, it does not seem that they can come back into the island platform (I have the trains arriving into one platform to terminate while a Moor Street departs from another, although the timings could be tweaked slightly).

4) The present day Nottingham - Cardiff I anticipate for that to be revised to run Moor Street - Cardiff, with all trains calling at Ashchurch for Tewkesbury, Lydney, and Chepstow as those have irregular calling patterns. The New Street - Nottingham to be revised to run Nottingham - Hereford via Castle Donington (shorter route) on a 30 minute frequency, calling Beeston, Castle Donington, Burton on Trent, Tamworth, New Street, and as per the present day calling pattern (including a reopened Fernhill Heath if Worcestershire County Council are still keen).

5) A new Moor Street - Swindon running in the opposite half hour to the Cardiff, calling Kings Norton, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch for Tewkesbury, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester Haresfield Parkway (reopened), Stonehouse, Stroud, Kemble, and Swindon. Although this has a long layover at Swindon, perhaps this could run via a reversal at Gloucester Central, so as to provide a half hourly service from Birmingham with the Cardiff?

6) I have tried my best to avoid having trains calling/starting/terminating at Kings Norton at xx:07 northbound and xx:09 southbound, so as not to cause conflicts with the Cross City Line.
