sometimes there are advantages to having 30+ tonne axle loads (the locos). even the single deck Amfleet carriages are almost as heavy as a lardy Class 185 DMU vehicle; double deck Superliners rival Type 3 diesels.

I don't think any of the UK network can take above 25t axle loads, (and track access charges would preclude anybody running much above 20t anyway). Add to that the route availability restrictions means that basically it is a non starter even as a regular snowmobile.
