I wonder if anyone can help I went for an assessment day with eastcoast for a csa out of Newcastle...I received an email saying I had been successful and I would hear off a line manager with a start date....well heard nothing so I emailed recruitment who keep saying they'll check for updates and get back to me but it's dragging on now and they do not communicate unless prompted...I'm really getting disheartened as I was ecstatic when I was told I had been successful but now 3 month on and still no start date.....

I got a CSA role too. No contact from line manager, or even from recruitment or HR.

I done an online application for East Coast and had to keep checking for updates on my online account, unfortunately the status of application changed from "Application received and under consideration" to "rejected" with no email, letter or any way of receiving feedback.
Is it just me or is that plain bad manners? I don't expect there were hundreds of applications as it was a specialist technical job.

Hopefully once Virgin get started they'll head to the talent pools to fill these vacancies they're meant to be creating

Have you heard anything back yet? I'm due to go for an assessment on the 05/03/15. I didn't think they would be ongoing assessments if they have people In the talent pool from 3 months+ ago still waiting for start dates. If you have any advice you could pass on from your assessment day I would be more than grateful.

Hi Shazza I was just wondering if you have started your position. I have also received the same email but heard nothing further. More recently than yourself though. I wanted to ask you when the Local Manager contacts you do they do it by phone or email? And is it only after the local Manager contacts you and you take the position benn offered that you then get your medical and references taken?

Also has anybody else started their position sooner than 3 months and not had to wait with Virgin East Coast? I just want to start asap.

Many thanks

Hi there!
I applied for a position twice, never got an answer till 2 weeks ago.
I went to an assessment day on a Thursday, Friday i got an email saying i was successful and i would be in a candidate pool. Next week i was contacted and received the welcome pack with info and contract. My application was for a full time permanent position but they gave a permanent role. I'll start in August, medical is going to be this month.

Has anyone been offered a temp contract also?

Hi,
Did they ring you first or just send you the welcome pack? I would like a full time permanent position but if they offer me a temporary position I don't think I would take it as would feel insecure. A lot of places do that noiw to make sure they are taking on the right people.

Well done Marininha, finally some successful story! I just wonder how come they offer job to people who succeeded in Jun-July, as candidates from Feb and April still waiting in the pool...?

I guess there were only a few successful candidates that had the chance for an interview. I don't know if there's a pool where I applied. I'm in Aberdeen. I am worried because I am turning down other permanent positions I applied for in other areas, and in the end they may dismiss me as the contract is temporary...

Stay in it folks, it's worth it! As an aside, I'd take a permanent position and then transfer to the position you want.

Congratulations on your csa role :) I had my assessment yesterday and I've not heard anything back yet, not being impatient but from what I've read a few folk have had emails the next day :/
As you probably were you can imagine my nerves are shot haha :) very much want to work for virgin on the trains but fear the assessment day/interviews didn't go as well as I hoped :) if anyone went to the York assessment day yesterday I'd like to hear from you, met some nice folk :)
