Cheers

Under Default Thread Subscription choose "Don't subscribe" then click save changes at the bottom.

Then click Subscriptions on the left and click the "Empty current folder" link above the list of threads. Confirm and you should go back to your subscriptions, but this time it will say "The current folder is empty" :)

How do you subscribe to threads in the first place? been on this forum for 3 years or so and still dont know how to do that. Its probably really simple and me not looking further than my own nose.

Wouldn't that cancel all of his subscriptions though?

If he didn't want to receive emails but keep subscribed to them (so he can see them in his User CP), he can go to User CP -> Edit Options, then the second box in the second panel entitled 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' -> No Email Notification.

Further to 90019 you also automatically subscribe to threads when you post a reply. Or at least you do if you haven't turned of subscriptions as shown early in this thread.

Well yes, I just assumed that he wanted to get rid of them (I personally don't like them at all) - but you're right if he wanted to just read them on their own page but not get emailed!

Yep, I love the updates on my User CP main page, but the email notifications are pain in the inbox when you read the forum every few hours:)
