Stuttering/Buffering PIS

Hi,

At Clapham Junction this morning, the automated passenger information system was behaving oddly, buffering or stuttering in the middle of words.

Whilst it's not really a primary interest of mine, I made 3 recordings on my phone, available on Soundcloud in case someone else is interested.

Has anyone else ever witnessed this before?

Yep - it happens at Redhill from time to time for the Monday-Friday 0809 to Bedford. It can also happen on Tramlink CR4000s, but more pertinently to this thread, various SWT units from time to time.

The SWT Desiro issue was covered in a recent thread. Basically it seems that sometimes the long list of stations is more text than the display unit/voice announcer can hold in its memory at once.
