Stupid Terms

Recently me and Dad have been laughing at the terms used in adverts nowadays describing products that you have never even heard of, yet these words are meant to help sell products. Has anyone else noticed these, and if so has anyone got any examples?

One that springs to mind are "pentapeptides".

Isn't that just a phrase?

We all know exactly what "increase in capacity" means anyway, and it's not a made-up term like 'pentapeptides'

And I can't really answer the original question, because I hardly see any adverts these days. If I'm watching something live, I usually mute the TV sound and minimise the TV window until the programme is back on.

Are not pentapeptides just a type of amino acid?, the building blocks of proteins and hence fundamentally components of skin; there may be some truth in that ad after all....(I've not got any wrinkles!)

Regarding adverts in general, it would be interesting if negative advertising was allowed, eg, don't buy brand X, it's proven to be carp. The only organisations that seem to partake of this sort of negative advertising are political parties.
