Can someone confirm for me that Liverpool SP - Wavertree Tech Pk is valid via Liverpool L St?

It's the only logical way to go, but costs £2.50, instead of £3.00 for a ticket to Lime Street

Yes, it is valid. The shortest route is Liverpool South Parkway to Edge Hill (3.75 miles) to Wavertree Technology Park (0.75 miles). Total 4.5 miles. That route passes through Edge Hill, which is a member of Liverpool Group for Routeing purposes. Therefore travel between the members of Liverpool Group, including doubling back, is allowed.

Another bizarre route from Liv South Pkwy is to Brunswick.

Two fares:

Any Permitted @ £2.65 SDR
Route Lpool @ £3.10 SDR

You wouldn't think that Liverpool would be a valid route, or even an option.

There are many similar examples of tickets that are valid via a more expensive place, due to double-backing being valid within a Group.

Off the top of my head here are a couple:

Letchworth to Arlesey (valid via concrete town)
York to South Milford (valid via Leeds)
