several rakes of ex-virgin mk 3s plus DVTs laid up, anyone know what these are for?

also, an ex-GNR teak coach coupled to a half-gutted ex-GNER mk 3 buffet.

That will look interesting. They doing a couple of 90s too? I know they are DBS-owned, but it could be done on the same basis as FSR-livered 90s with an EWS logo on the cab sides.

I can't wait to see a 90 in "Pendolino livery", which I guess means a similar livery to that on the 57/3 Thunderbirds? Also the Mk 3s should look pretty smart too, the image in my mind is not dissimilar to the XC Mk 3s. We shall see.

Mind you... the Mk3's will look very simular if not even the same to Virgin Trains Challenger project of yester year... where HST's were to be retained as 5 car for paddington to the north via Swindon services...

And thinking about it, looking foward to seeing VT's refurbed Mk3 rake...

It does at the moment, but it normally runs the FO 1846 Euston - Preston, and then whatever else is required. I'm looking forward to seeing the refurbished Mk3s too.

Two Pendolinos are apparently out of action at the moment due to a collision in the yard so the 90 rake is being used to backfill
