I was on a transpennine 185 6 car to Liverpool South Parkway on Monday, and we were told to move to the front doors of the rear set. To do this, I had to go through the 1st class section, which has separate doors.
For some reason they were incredibly slow to open, so by the time I had got through both, I had missed the stop, and had to stay on until Warrington and get a emr back to South Parkway. Thankfully there was not ticket checks, but I was wondering if there is any kind of allowance for this kind of thing, and if anyone had experienced a similar problem.
As a side note, im sure usual it is only the 6th car that doesn't open, so no idea why we had to move up so far.

When were you told to move? Only after the train had stopped? Or was there any warning before you got to Parkway, such as on platform displays or announcements at the station at which you boarded, or on displays inside the train?

I am wondering if the driver may have stopped at the wrong stopping point.

It was before we stopped as I think they are just too long, but by the time I had grabbed my bag and got the the front it was too late

Common sense should prevail in these situations.

Every journey may be different, but my experience from commuting in and out of South Parkway a couple of time each week on the TPE trains is that the short platformed stations are mentioned before the train arrives there, allowing time for passengers to move down the one or two cars necessary.

For completeness: yesterday evening we were told about the need to move forward at (among others) South Parkway on the way out of Oxford Road. The specific reminder wasn't given until after the automated 'we are now arriving at Liverpool South Parkway'. So not all that much help for someone at the far end of coach G...
