Streetlite Lengths

Am I right in thinking that these are the only four lengths the Streetlite is available in...

There's this, the shortest available in Wheel Forward (WF) form

Then this, the longest available in WF form

Tyrer Bus Wright Streetlite MX11JYT

Here we have a Tyrer Bus liveried Wright Streetlite operating former Harris Bus route 3 to Clifton Farm under the control now of Holmeswood Coaches who I understand have taken over both companies.

Go North East 9087 SK68TXP, a Wrightbus Streetlite Max demonstrator on loan to the company to cover for warranty work on the native examples. It is seen here at the Metrocentre, Gateshead on 24-01-2019

Only reason I ask is that I recently spotted this one in Bolton,

Vision Bus, Horwich LJ13GKO working Bolton local services.

New to London General as WS24.

Which judging by the windows on the side doesn't fit in with any of the others.

Looks like it was one originally to TfL specs hence the slightly different design. As the exit was added when it was converted from a 2 door to 1 door.

I can't find anything definitive to quote (Wright's website is a bit out of date) but I am sure there are additional lengths for DF versions. The image linked above of the shortest DF is a relative newcomer at 9.6m in addition to the 10.2 and 10.8m versions and then the Max.

Yes, the Wright website is out of date. I think the shortest DFs are 9.7m, then 10.2, 10.4 (the Vision Bus example queried above), 10.8, and 11.5 (Max) - all lengths are of course rounded, eg 10.8 is actually 10.770m.

I never realised the TfL ones didn't have an emergency door! That'll explain that layout then.

Yeah I find the Wrightbus website quite frustrating to get information. I did think the shortest DF Streetlite looked a little too short, although I have to admit I do quite like it's proportions.

So there'll be another DF model between the Hotel Hoppa and the Burnley Connect one, which will be the 10.2m model. Finding information on them is proving tricky, because unlike Optare's Solo which has different model names for each length the Streetlite seems to go without!

The interior of the Vision bus examples are slightly different too. Because of the additional emergency door, there's no seat where the door is. It's mostly used for standing room by passengers.

41 seater is a 10.8M StreetLite DF the Max is a 45 seater.

41 seater is a 10.8M StreetLite DF the Max is a 45 seater.

First spec MAX's are 41 seaters (B41F). They have 1 less row of seats in the lower area, it's the same on First Spec 11.5M/11.8M E200MMCs.

The rationale being that the middle door counts as the second (emergency) door. When sold on and converted to single door, a second door needs to be added, but it I think it could be added to the nearside; indeed, I believe Optare's Metrodecker is built such that the second door can be built on the nearside after conversion to single door in later life.

An offside door is better in the event the bus ended up in a ditch, hence why it's more popular.
