A variety of tasks but some progress

BR Mark 2 BFK 17101 has progressed but still throws up surprises

Another compartment has had to have plate work carried out on the window frame.

The small windows have been re-fitted, we have used a compound that is used for sealing car windscreens. This was applied to the frame before the window was offered up and fixed using closed end rivets. The excess was cleaned off when cured and then the rivet heads covered with filler to bring the frame level.....

More Fishplate oiling - Wednesday 21st May

Glad to see the old girl back in service, Fishplate oiling continues a pace, had reached Estate level crossing near 85 1/2 milepost crossing by lunchtime of May 21st. I think the intension is to complete all the plain Mainline of the railway by "summer".

The old water tank site at Boat of Garten is now cleared, with the new tank top right. Gradually the environs around Boat are being tidied up, will try and get a photo of old coaling point by the South Signal Box.....

Hi Bryan
I can confirm that we are currently using the Mk3 Packer, the ex-Jarvis machine - BP005/74071, and it is currently doing a grand job on the extension out from Broomhill to the River Dulnain Bridge - with only a few mishaps! Once we have got that bit into a reasonable condition we think it might go and have a rest, whilst we repaint it and replace the windows and perhaps the roof which leaks a bit at the moment...

Glad to hear that it is being used and to good effect.
It did a lot on the NYMR until we bought the tamper 73214 which really clocked up the miles.

If you are in the market 73214 might be available as our recent acquisition of 73250 has now gone into regular service instead leaving 214 sidelined.

Not sure we could afford it, even if any of us could figure out how to work such a large machine! If you have any contacts for other owners of Jacker Packers though it would be appreciated - just so we can figure out who has what spares!
