Stratford international platforms

Does anyone know what all the wooden trellis work going on on the Stratford international international platforms is about? I've attached a photo showing it.

Making the platforms higher so 395's can run into them without leaving a big ass step during the Olympics, IIRC.

Yep, thats what I'd suspect, they need to gain 10 inches in hight and stick out a tad further so that 395s can call. If I'm thinking right normal service units will run on the outer platforms and the javalins on the inner platforms, as to be able to turn round without crossing the flow of traffc...?

I didn't think there would be a normal high speed service during the Olympics?

That word 'normal' is extremely important I think. Although it has long been said that the 'normal service' wouldn't run, they've never actually said there'd be no service at all (apart from the Javelin shuttles). Indeed maybe it could vary at different times of the day anyway?

I doubt there is enough HS1 track/platform space between St Pancras and Ebbsfleet to dedicate the entire fleet to the Olympic shuttle. Does anyone know enough about HS1 headways, speeds, platform reoccupation rules etc to work it out accurately?

I have the figures somewhere at work, but there will still be services to Ashford and Faversham, but 395s will not be running over the classic lines.
Services will run through the night at (I think) 30min intervals between St Pancras and Ebbsfleet.

Are you sure they are running to Faversham if they are not running over 'classic' lines?

Im sure i saw a poster at Margate the other week that said they were still running some services.. Will check next week when im back down there though.

But as above - to get to Faversham they will still have to go over 'classic lines'. Impossible not too

Are you sure they are running to Faversham if they are not running over 'classic' lines?

Sorry, got myself confused! What I should have said was that they wouldn't be going beyond FAV and AFK on classic lines i.e. Margate, Dover, etc. However, this is still all subject to further testing and modelling
