Had an unusual incident today. On the 6:55 Edinb to London EC service, a passenger fell ill south of Doncaster. Staff attended and an ambulance was called to meet the passenger at Retford where the train would make an unscheduled stop to allow the passenger to be transferred to the care of the ambulance crew.

After over 30 mins at Retford firstly waiting for the ambulance and then with the ambulance crew in attendance, the passenger "changed her mind about whether to continue her journey today" and remained on board while we resumed the journey to London.

Well, what's the use of having a mind if we can't change them?

What was the incident? If, for instance, she was diabetic and had a drop in blood sugar which caused her to collapse then she could be treated without the need to take her to hospital. If someone is unconscious then ambulance staff are advised to not move before treating them unless they are in danger, so moving someone off the train on to a platform isn't recommended unless the train is on fire or something could be about to crash in to it.

If it's what I think you mean, I know someone with one who did something similar

What confuses me a little is the visibility, I know you can see almost nothing out of the shiny ones, I'd guess it's similar for those ones as well.

I think she was going to a fancy-dress party as she was accompanied by a wizard, a rabbit and a vampire. They got on at Cambridge & Littleport but all got off at Downham Market.

I had someone with a corricle, once. They were trying to block a table of four with it, they put it in the bike-shed when requested.

Never found anyone having sex on my train. Lots of people travelling "toilet class" though!

I always loved the one from Terry Pratchett that the tooth fairy carried a pliers, in case they couldn't give the exact money, then they would take the appropriate number of teeth!

They hacked santa too?

And paid Rudolph for the inside story.

"My nights of sherry and mince-pie fuelled romps with a beardy man and hundreds of elves!":lol:

I had someone dressed as Pacman on my train once. I did a bit of a double take when I saw him in the DOO monitors.

I don't think it was Rémi Gaillard though sadly.

On Athens station about to board a train to Thessaloniki. A man had a lamb in a large net style bag ... it was only when he (and two others helping) threw it into the baggage car and it bleated that I realised it was still alive!

I heard of someone being served the full four sandwiches on East Coast, but I think it was just a rumour

It was me :D honest! It does happen.

I saw a couple trying to get a reindeer on the U-Bahn in Berlin in December 2001. The transport police spent five minutes taking pictures and having a massive joke before the poor thing got both front legs trapped in the gap and had to be sedated before being rescued.

Great thread btw love it!

Jimmy, I don't know how to break this to you, but if you were to be promoted to Senior Tooth Fairy, when removing teeth from under pillows, money has to be left, not taken. The Fairy Police would be on to you like a ton of feathers if you stole the children's money AND teeth...
